    Houston-based Mogas Industries has added an online selection program for its rotary control FlexStream technology. The online program known as FlexSelect can aid customers in determining the appropriate valve and trim configurations for their extreme-service control valve needs.

    FlexStream engineered rotary control valve utilizes standard rotary ball valve technology, but in an innovative design, according to Mogas. The valve is designed to force process fluids through a series of right angles in the trim element, which allows for tighter control at each stage of pressure letdown. The right-angle turns, coupled with expanding flow passageways in the trim, remove kinetic energy from the fluid (liquids or gases) and lower pressure in a controlled manner. The tortuous paths in the trim also help to combat cavitation and flashing.

    The valve incorporates a direct mounted actuator control package and reportedly costs much less than traditional control valves, has a smaller footprint, and possesses a wide range of operability.

    The new FlexSelect online program can help customers determine the appropriate valve and trim configuration by allowing them to input the appropriate data into the program. Provided the proper data is given, an estimated sizing configuration is generated that will show the client the recommended characteristics to meet the requirements for their application.

    Mogas states that the program is strictly for the use of control valve applications using its FlexStream technology.
